Kay Delone Bates Phoenix, AZ Kay D. Bates born to Lamar and Delone Ewell April 22, 1933 died March 29th 2008.She was born in Sandy, Utah and spent the remaining years of her life in Phoenix, Az. She is survived by her children Vicky, Larry (Cheryl), Keith (Linda), Janell, Sheryl, Roger (Suzanne), Stewart (Pam), and Janey (Gavin) Lee. Brothers Walter Ewell, Norman Ewell, Sisters Barbara Jensen, Harriett Swapp, 50+ grandchildren, 15+ great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She married Kay C. Bates July 28th, 1950. They were married for 56 years, when he passed away Feb, 1st 2007. She was loved by all, and had a sense of humor and her laugh was addicting to all. She was dedicated to her beliefs even to the end of her life. She loved to travel, explore, draw, dream of great things, some of which never came to pass. She never stopped. She was our gypsy girl. She will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by husband Kay C. Bates, son Kim Bates, parents, Lamar and Delone Ewell, brother David Ewell, sister Patty Poulton. A celebration of her life will be at Stewart Bates (son) home Sat. April 5th 2008 1:00-4:00 p.m. in Murray, UT. A private cremation has taken place, arrangements were entrusted to Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley, Phoenix Az. Published in the Deseret News on 4/3/2008.
