  • Notes
    • Birth: Christening name was Eda Maria Salzetti. She changed her name when she went to school to Americanize it. All LDS church records are listed as Ida Marie.

From Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996.

Ida Maria Salzetti was one of nine children in her family. Her parents were born in Italy, but three months after they were married, the husband set sail for America, leaving his bride behind until he could make a home for her. He arrived in June or July of 1904 and went to Colorado.

The mother of Ida Marie came over one year later. They lived for the first twelve years in Colorado, New Nexico and then moved to Sunnyside, Carbon County; Utah. The father worked on the coke ovens for the Utah Fuel Company.

Ida Marie met Walter Leon at a dance in Salt Lake City, and celebrated their engagement in the same ballroom Valentine's day of the following year.
