[A Letter dated,26 Dec 1904 by R.L.Ewell writes: "Grandfather had two sons by his first wife, John H. Ewell and Thomas M. Ewell and both have been dead abt 60 years. Also had a dau. Susan. My Uncle "Jack" never Married."]
[VaLene Collings, researcher, feels that the John A Ewell in Platte Co. MO is the same John A. Ewell son of Leighton that was married. Other Ewell cousins were found in this county.]
Please note that George W Ewell recorded that his name was John William Ewell and then wrote that he married Polly Bland. This is on all the typed Family Group Sheets and in George's letters and even in the "Ewell in America.' However, research proves that William Fletcher Ewell married Polly/Mary Lee Bland and there is no such person as John William Ewell!
