    Notes
    • Marr: Their family is listed in the 1850 Fed Census of same County
Probably Pleasant married Mary, after Elizabeth Clapper Smith left Council Bluffs.
Vera Tillman, in her book, "How Deep My Roots," Page 17, stated that her ancestors, left Council Bluffs, in Aug, 1846 and settled the town, Plum Hollow, now known as Thurman, Iowa. This group of woman, who's husbands inlisted in the Morman Battalion, left a month after their husbands. Elizabeth left with that group of women, as she was a resident there with her children. See "Forney's Five Family Records" book, page 34. Son, William F. Smith, states that he and his mother left Plum Hollow in Feb. 1852.
The timing lines up with the birth of daughter, Martha, born 2 Sept 1847, just a year later.
